Streusel Yam Casserole
NeedTaste |This creamy yam casserole has been handed down for generations. I have taken the honor of serving this family favorite at Thanksgiving and Christmas. With one mixing bowl, ingredients are mixed all together, poured into a casserole dish, topped with brown sugar, flour, and butter to make a crunchy caramelized top. This recipe can be made a day in advance and kept in the refrigerator either before or after baking time. I've had people tell me they don't like yams until they taste this one . Sweet potato casserole is a staple holiday side and this easy recipe is delish. It's sweet enough, some may consider it a dessert. Using canned yams means it can be made in no time (and as V points out it can be prepped the day before). The casserole part is buttery, creamy, and sweet. We loved the streusel. Once it slightly cools, it creates a yummy sugary topping. This is going to become a must-make holiday side dish.
